As Artifacts

When did you guys FIRST hear about Arkaik Clothing?
We'd seen you guys a lot through Warped Tour. I specifically remember seeing the tent set up over the summer of 2010 at the Marysville, CA date.

2. You were one of the first bands to join the Arkaik Band Program a year ago, what made you want to be a part of it / why did you join?
We were fans of the line, and when the word got out about the program at the time, we jumped at the opportunity. It was a great chance for a lot of cross promotion, plus we got to wear our Arkaik gear practically 24/7!

3. Has your relationship with Arkaik helped you in the past year?
Quite a lot, actually. Our fans loved the great discounts we got through the promo codes, so there was a huge response from that. We also had a lot of help in promotion from you guys. We're still very appreciative of the Facebook and Twitter shoutouts.

4. What is your favorite Arkaik design?
I'm fairly confident almost everyone in the band has the Sharkaik design, that one's a hit with us. Two of us have the Dreamcatcher crew necks, which are awesome as well. The designs have been getting progressively better with each new line, so we're really excited to see what 2012 has in store!

5. You guys were, for most of the year - if not all of it, the top band in the Arkaik Endorsement Program - how or why do you think this was? (what did you do, etc.)
We really worked at it. It's all about promotion. We were on Facebook, Twitter, and I even think MySpace for a time just getting the word out. "Use our code, get some sweet clothes and help support our band!" We also printed out our own fliers to hand out at shows and on tour with Arkaik all over them, which worked wonderfully. We were pleasantly surprised to hear that we were one of the highest selling bands of the year. It was great to be recognized by Arkaik and to see that our hard work paid off.

6. What advice would you give to other artists working with us in the Endorsement Program
Work, work, work. Promote at any opportunity, and really appeal to your fan base. You only get as much out of the program as you put into it.

7. What do you guys have coming up in 2012 for As Artifacts?
More new music, and more tours. We're in the process of writing and demoing songs for near-future release. We have at least two new singles coming out over the next few months, as well as one we just put out. We're also planning to have a full-length recorded and released by the end of the year. The goal is to get back out on the road again as soon as possible. The goal is to get out for more regional and national tours by the summer.

8. You guys just released some new stuff - how was it received?
We're ecstatic that reception has been resoundingly positive. As a band that started in 2008/2009 kind of coming off the autotune craze, we knew immediately after our EP came out that we wanted to aim for a darker, heavier, more refined sound, and we think that the release of the new single, "Bilbo Swaggins", was a huge step in the right direction. Our new material will blend more heavy and melodic elements with a sound that's still distinctly As Artifacts.

9. Why should Arkaik fans check you guys out?
I think we fit in really well with a lot of the bands on the Arkaik roster. We've played with a lot of the bands in the Arkaik family, such as Memphis May Fire, Blessthefall, The Word Alive, Adestria, and Attila just to name a few.

10. What do you hope to see from Arkaik (clothing / item wise) in the next year
More badass designs. The stuff coming from Arkaik has been great. We're especially excited for the hotter months so we can get our hands on more tanks and tees!

11. Final Words?
Thank so much to everyone over at Arkaik who's worked with us over the last year, and thanks to everyone who's supported us over the years or is just now checking us out. Make sure to keep following us online through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or come out and see us at a show when we're in your area. We've got a lot of cool stuff up our sleeves over the next year!

PS, we miss Arizona greatly. Send us Jimmy John's and pink doughnuts from Dunkin!
